About Me

My story.

From a very early age, I was interested in photography. You'd often find me poring over the family photograph albums, and in high school I wanted to do photography and learn about darkrooms. But the cost was prohibitive. I still, however, have a passion for old-school photography and I love, just love, film as a medium. It fascinates me that the early photography pioneers were able to produce these photographs of people just like magic. It's a very tactile process, too, which is super cool.

As things often do, you end up where you're supposed to be, and in my early twenties, I was again exposed to photography in my journalism career, and I was fortunate that journalists were expected to take their own photos. That was twenty years ago.

Now, needing something that worked around my children, I again delved into photography. As mums often do, I took literally thousands of them - what a treasure. Then decided to start up a business, and study photography all at the same time. I never do things by halves.
When I'm not working with photos, I'm working with words and I'm in the middle of releasing my third poetry book and performing poetry with local musicians.
Why? Because life without creativity is no life at all.
